Staying at the Ram Dass Guru Ashram is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and live with awareness. Nestled among the pine forests near Sintra and the ocean, the Ashram offers a peaceful environment where daily life becomes a practice of mindfulness and community.
Guests are welcome to join us for a few days or longer stays, to rest, recharge and take part in our daily rhythm of meditation, yoga, seva (selfless service), and nourishing meals prepared with care.If you would like to enjoy living in a Ashram for a couple of days, you will be welcomed as a guest.
Also recommended for those who would like to experience in the ashram before applying for a Seva Program.

Depends on the type of accomodation (shared dormitory, single or double room, own tent or van).
Single or double rooms are available on request.
Children are always welcome and up to the age of 12 stay for free!





What kind of stay does the ashram offer?
Bed & Breakfast
A B&B stay at the Ram Dass Guru Ashram is for guests who wish to experience ashram life while enjoying a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
Guests are invited to step into the daily rhythm of the ashram and take part in its activities. The day begins early with morning sadhana, followed by shared vegan meals, time in the communal spaces, and opportunities to participate in daily activities. In the evening, kirtan brings the day to a close.
Alongside this shared rhythm, guests have personal time to rest, reflect, walk, read, or simply enjoy the calm atmosphere of the ashram. The B&B stay offers a meaningful experience of community life and spiritual practice, while remaining light and accessible.
This option is well suited for shorter stays or for those who wish to experience the ashram before committing to a longer or more immersive retreat.
Personal retreat
A Personal Retreat at the Ram Dass Guru Ashram is a dedicated time to step away from daily routines and consciously enter the rhythm of ashram life. It is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself through shared spiritual practice, simple living, and community.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into a calm and supportive environment shaped by daily sadhana, communal spaces, and the natural surroundings of the ashram. Very quickly, the quieter pace and clear structure of the day invite you to settle, rest, and become present.
As part of your retreat, you participate in the daily life of the ashram, including morning sadhana, seva (selfless service), shared vegan meals, and evening kirtan. Alongside these activities, there is personal time for rest, reflection, meditation, journaling, walking, or creative expression.
The Personal Retreat offers a simple yet meaningful container to reconnect — with yourself, with community, and with a deeper rhythm of life.

Accommodation
Our guest rooms are simple, comfortable, and designed to support inner peace.
Each space is created with natural materials, fresh air, and soft colors — encouraging quiet reflection and restful sleep.
You may choose between shared or private accommodation, depending on availability and your preference.
Daily Rhythm
Guests are invited to join our morning Aquarian Sadhana (spiritual practice), Kirtan evenings, or Seva activities in the garden, kitchen, or temple space. Participation is a way to connect more deeply with the spirit of community and service.
Meals at the Ashram
We serve fresh, vegan meals prepared with love and mindfulness.
– Breakfast: wholesome and light to start the day after morning practice
– Lunch: the main meal, cooked with local and organic ingredients
– Dinner: simple and grounding, shared in silence or gentle conversation
All meals are enjoyed in a communal setting that honors presence and gratitude.
Surroundings
The Ashram is ideally located between the lush hills of Sintra and the wild beauty of São Julião Beach, offering easy access to walking trails, forest stillness, and ocean sunsets.
